Under 11’s stunning victory by Chris Towler

Cogenhoe U’11s posted an excellent all round performance on Sunday to beat Brixworth by 20 runs. It was a fantastic performance showing good etiquette and good sport throughout the fixture.

The toss was won by Brixworth who elected to bat and scored a total of 252 but lost 5 wickets in the process. The wickets were shared between Archie Plowman, debutant Elliot Williams, Alex Towler and Kieran Davis, who took two wickets in two balls.

This left Cogenhoe chasing 237 to win (assuming no wickets were lost). Kieran Davis and Elliot Williams scored 10no and 9no respectively to help Cogenhoe reach their target. However some crucial defensive efforts from Jack Buswell, Chris Alvis, wicketkeeper Harvey Reynolds (making his debut) and captain Joseph Barbara, who again led his team in the correct fashion.

Cogenhoe finished with a total 267 for the loss of just two wickets and therefore won the match by 20 runs. The result left all involved in an excellent mood with high optimism for the next fixture against Bugbrooke.
