Cogenhoe Cricket Club are delighted to announce that our President and club legend Terry Tarpley has won the Northamptonshire OSCA for Lifetime Acheivement for 2015.
Terry will pick up his Northants OSCA on Thursday at the County Ground during the T20 blast fixture against Derbyshire , accompanied by his wife Suzanne.
| Terry made his Cogenhoe debut back in 1966 as an 19 year old and has been an integral part of our club ever since. Terry has held every committee position and is currently our President. In 50 years Terry has raised thousands of pounds for our club selling draw tickets, organising race nights, barbecues and raffles as well as using his business contacts to get in sponsor and vice presidents.
When he came towards the end of his playing days Terry dropped down to the seconds to help out the next generation of players sacrificing his own game to allow others the chance to gain experience. When he did eventually finish playing Terry became a respected umpire for our club. Terry has dedicated thousands of hours to our club attending meetings, preparing pitches, umpiring and serving on our committee for over 40 years. Back in 1999 Terry helped set up our youth section and we now run juniors teams at under 13`s,11`s and 9`s have 4 level 2 coaches and 8 assistant coaches and our club as a whole is thriving and it is down to one man who our village call Mr Cogenhoe Cricket Club Terry Tarpley. |
