This week the U11’s match against Horton House was called off due to the rain, however the U13’s match against the Old Wellingburians went ahead.

Rain before the start reduced the match to 16 overs a side. Cogenhoe batted first and after a shakey start Jake Ovington lead the way with the bat (his inning included a mighty six), boundaries were also struck by Matty Wainwright and John Lidbetter and with runs scored by Joseph Barbara, Alex Towler and Max Murrell (on U13 debut) helped Cogenhoe post a respectable score of 33-7 from their 16 overs.

In reply the OW’s started strongly and despite a wicket to James Kempa and 2 in 2 balls from Jake Ovington, the Ow’s got home with 7 wickets to spare. The teams agreed that the Ow’s would bat their overs and this allowed Alex Towler, Amy Kempa and Josh Bastow to take wicket with Amy Kempa and captain Tom Robinson to take stunning catches.

The U11’s travel to Nether Heyford on Sunday while on Monday the U13’s play their last scheduled match of the 2012 season at Overstone Park.
