This week the U13’s hosted the Old Northamptonians A and the U11’s played East Haddon

The U13’s lost the toss and fielded first, after a slow start two fantastic run-outs from Joe Barbara and James Kempa helped slow down the ON’s and with a wicket to captain Tom Robinson, thanks to a brilliant catch fromk Chris Alvis, Cogenhoe were on top. All of this combined with cheap bowling from Ray Ahmed, James Kempa and Amy Kempa restricted the ON’s to 124-3 from their 20 overs.

In reply, openers Josh Bastow and Tom Robinson got off to a solid start and Matty Wainwright also made runs. However captain Tom Robinson was the star of the show, his inning of 30* (bastmen retire on 30) included 6 fours as he became the first Cogenhoe batsmen to reach the retirement score. This inning helped Cogenhoe reach the score of 50-8. This means that with 3 games left in the season the U13’s are yet to be bowled out this year.

The U11’s also lost the toss and for the first time this year fielded first. In awful fielding conditions the U11’s fielded and bowled well captain Archie Plowman took two wickets as East Haddon scored a net total of 307.

In reply openers Alex Towler and Amy Kempa got the innings off to an excellent start and runs were made by Archie Plowman, Max Murrell, Jack Buswell, Will Tipler, James Kempa and Luis Hollebon allowed Cogenhoe to post a very respectable net total of 222.

The U13’s have no fixture next week but the U11’s travel to Great Houghton.
