Youth Report by Chris Towler

This week saw the U11s travel to St Crispins whilst the U13s took on Overstone Park B.

On Sunday the U11s made the trip to St Crispins and after a shaky start, boundaries from Josh Bastow and Amy Kempa well supported by Wicketkeeper Fred Loveder, Captain Joseph Barbara, James Kempa and Chris Alvis, Cogenhoe were able to post a net total of 221.

In reply St Crispins started strongly and despite a superbly executed run-out from Josh Bastow and Joseph Barbara and a wicket to spinner Alex Towler; St Crispins were the victors, winning by 81 runs.

The U13s took on Overstone Park B on Monday. Overstone won the toss and chose to bat and sue to some good batting and slightly shoddy bowling and fielding, Overstone scored 144-0 of their 20 overs.

As Cogenhoe went out to bat, lead by and absolutely sublime innings of 23 from Wicketkeeper Matthew Wainwright with boundaries from Jordan Hashim and Chris Towler and valuable time and the crease spent by Jonathan Lidbetter, Jake Ovington and Elliot Williams Cogenhoe scored 65-6, a very good effort from all in particular Matthew.

Next week both teams enjoy home field advantage as the U11s take on Bugbrooke and the U13s take on Brixworth
