Under 11’s v Bugbrooke by Chris Towler

The Cogenhoe U11’s  side put in a valiant fighting effort in a narrow 16 run defeat to Bugbrooke on Sunday.

Bugbrooke won the toss and elected to bat and posted a total of 269 for the loss of two wickets. The two wickets were taken by Elliot Williams and Harvey Reynolds who were playing in just their second game of cricket for the club.

Chasing 260 to win Cogenhoe did not give up in chasing the total and some excellent innings from Elliot Williams, Josh Bastow, Captain Joseph Barbara and debutant Elliot Reynolds helped Cogenhoe to a total of 278 for a loss of seven wickets. This put Cogenhoe on a net score 243.

Even though Cogenhoe lost much can be gained from this game and the U11’s will look to bounce back when they travel to St. Crispin Ryelands on June 5th.
