On Saturday a hardy bunch of souls braved the elements to give our season another great boost with ground preparations taking place to mark the annual Nat West Cricketforce weekend.
Our targets were to paint the inside of the changing rooms and lay slabs in the area between our storage shed and changing rooms.
The day got off to a great start with breakfast of Sausage rolls provided by Terri Knight and they were absolutely superb.
We were delighted that staff from Nat West were able to join us and more than lend a hand as you can see from the pictures below.
Our sincere thanks go to Mark , Jodie, Tom, Loki the Spaniel, Christine, Dave and from Cogenhoe CC James.
The Nat Wests teams support has also netted our club £250.
With the painting in good hands it was down to Ryan, Dad Paul, Teffers and occasionally the Chairman to do the heavy lifting and sort out paving the area between our store and changing rooms.
The result of all their hard work was clear to see and it was 6 hours of back breaking graft in very blustery conditions.
Thank you lads.
County Councillor Michael Clarke a very keen supporter of our club also came along to lend his support and to officially hand over our new Pedestrian Scarifier brought with a grant from Michael through the Empowering Councillors Scheme.
The Scarifier is a fantastic addition to our ground equipment and it will help us to provide safe and true surfaces as well as help us keep our pitch in the best condition throughout the season.
Michael Clarke hands over the Scarifier to Chairman Roy Quennell and Groundsman Charlie Bryant.
Cogenhoe CC wish to place on record its thanks to the following people for their help and support on Saturday
Gareth Goddard, Ryan Knight, Roy Quennell, Paul Knight, Terri Knight, James Goodwin, Dave Patrick, Matt Irons assisted by Poppy and Lilly, Charlie Bryant and Paul Browning
Dave, Mark, Tom Christine and Jodie from Nat West
