Just a few notes for the forthcoming season.
Practice is still on Friday nights from 6.30pm, starting on April 24th [more details below].
We are keen to provide as much competitive cricket for all junior age groups this season as possible.
The U9’s have already entered tournaments and have friendlies arranged with Wollaston CC. We have entered the U11’s into the Northampton & District Youth Cricket League again this year and as before they will play on Sunday mornings.
We have also collaborated with The Old Wellingburians to enter an U13 team in the league.
Then finally for those 14 and above there, will be a mixed side containing adults and youngsters who will play Wednesday evenings in a small league with similar clubs to ours.
Further details on fixtures and arrangements will be made as the season approaches.
We need new players, so please bring along any friends that are interested.
Outdoor training at Compton Park will start on 24th April. The times will be 6.30 to 7.30 for under 9’s and 6.30 to 8.00 for those aged 9 and above. You will need to complete a Registration Form, which can be requested from Dave Patrick or can be downloaded from our website at www.cogenhoecc.co.uk
It is important that these forms are completed within the first week of training so please endeavour to bring them along on the first night.
The routine will be as last year. Every junior on arrival will need to report to the coach who is in charge of the register to ensure they are entered. There will also be a charge of £1 for training which should be paid at the same time. Before departing each junior will need to sign out on the register.
Please show this letter to your parent or guardian and if they are interested in taking a more active role there they can become a volunteer. Anybody interested should make contact with the Club.
If you have outgrown your Cogenhoe cricket shirt return it and you should be able to exchange it for a larger one. This will only be possible if members return unwanted shirts.
On a social note we would urge all members to come to our annual Race Night, which will be held at Cogenhoe Working Mens’s Club on Friday March 6th from 8.30pm.
This is our major fund raising event of the year and the success of it is vital to our future. Even if you are unable to come along on the night it is possible to sponsor a race or purchase a horse, by contacting one of the following:-
