Cogenhoe Cricket Club picked up the Ian Davidson Memorial Trophy at the Northants Cricket League Presentation Evening on Friday 12 th October.
Nick Lester accepted the award on behalf of our club, the second time we have won this prestigious trophy in the last three seasons.
The trophy was awarded to us in recognition of the work our club does in promoting itself via our website, facebook and twitter.
Our website recently underwent a facelift and thanks to our webmaster Jason Kruger. The new site looks even better and quite frankly is far to good for a village cricket club. The new site contains a result archive which has over 800 scorecards dating back to 1968 when our club first played competitive league cricket. To view the scorecards simply click on the result archive banner, select a year and click and all the league games from that year will appear and you then select the game scorecard you wish to view.We have already received so lovely feedback from players old and new and from players of other sides thanking us for bringing back some wonderful memories.
Our Facebook and Twitter reach also scaled new heights and it is fast becoming a very popular way to communicate scores as they happen and keeping everyone up to date with the state of play.
We are most grateful to Mark Bird who is in charge of everything and set the whole Facebook and Twitter sites up. We also have some great tweeters such as Nick Lester, Roy Quennell, Julie Mason, Matt Irons, Abi Waters and some very enthusiastic followers too ( Messers Cox and Whiteman)
